Is Sanford Brown Institute-Dallas, TX a good School?
Favorite Answer
The Dallas is nationally accreditations so it had to pass a minimum of certain standards:
1) A certain amount of people who graduate must pass the exam (normally on the first try) at a percentage good enough to meet the CAAHEP and ARDMS standard. I’m unsure of the exact amount but its usually around 80 percent of the sutdents must pass the exam.
2) The instructors must meet a national criteria. That information should be found at: http://www.ardms.org/ and found at http://www.caahep.org/
3) Normally, although I’m not sure with ARDMS exactly, a certain percentage of people must get hired in the field in which they studied. Thats something you can probably locate on the site.
4) And the equipment must also meet a minimum standard to be considered good enough for educational and real world purposes. Same goes with proper extern sites, etc. The sites you go to have to have the ability to instruct you, give you the hands on instructions and practice you need to be come certfied nationally.
Truth is, if you have the option to get into a community college program for ultrasound, then you dont have to worry about the reputation and mostly the HUGE cost associated with vocational schools like Sanford Brown.
But if you live in the real world and area like myself were all my local community colleges have 3-4 year waiting lists just to get into the program. Then time is money, and sometimes you got to take a risk and pay that money to make the money.
If you stick to a nationally accredited school, you should be fine. You just might have to work a little harder to prove the stereo types wrong.

Every school has its students that succeed and students that dont and become bitter. People that don’t succeed its nobody’s fault but their owns because when you do succeed you the only that owns it right? I like this school its no different than the universities and colleges i attended, except for the tuition. There are very educated professors here that want the best and push for only the best and thats what makes every school, a school that have students that want to succeed.
Again, there will be students that are bitter. If you fail you pick yourself back up and thats that.
