is making a 65 in a class failing?

If I make a estimated high 60 in a class in college would that be considered failing? NOTE: I am not a bad student, I make an average of a’s and b’s but i am just not really that good in math

It is probably a D or a C-. The syllabus will state the professors grading criteria. If there is a curve, you are looking at probably a c-, but if this is a prereq for another class you are going to have to take it again, most likely.

It just depends how the professor grades.

If they grade on any type of bell curve, then how well the entire class does will set the average, hence a passing grade.

From my experience professors either curve or do a shifted grade scale. I never encounter a professor yet who has done neither, but they are out there.

This is usually in the syllabus.

It depends on the college, but I think that it will be a D-. (a 60) or a D (a 65).

It depends on the class. Each teacher should give out a syllabus at the beginning of the semester that clearly states what passing and failing grades would be, their policy on curving grades and extra credit.

yes that is considered failing. I would get a math tutor and study with others in the class.
