Is it tacky to list a low-level degree after your name?
I have a friend whose signature is always:
John Doe, M.S.
So what he has a masters degree. It’s not the same as an MD or Ph.D.

Yes, it is tacky, imo. I have a M.S.-which is definitely not a low level degree- but it never appears anywhere after my name, only on my resume. I think the only people who can use their degree as part of their title are those with doctorates (JD, MD, PhD, etc)

I don’t even think people should list the Ph.D. after their name. Maybe it’s ok to list MD, just so the person can be identified to assist in a medical emergency.
