Man

Is it smart to take as many SAT II and AP tests as possible (shooting for Ivy and MIT)?

I’ve taken the SAT II Chemistry in my FRESHMEN year and got a 790

(on your app, do they see when you took the test?)

I’m plannign on taking

SAT II Physics

AP World History

SAT II World History

I’m planning on taking SAT II Bio next year (when i take Bio) and AP U.S….what do you think?

Should i take all thress SAT II sciences?

Also my ECS

Right now I’m a Sophomore, and i’m going to a really nationally prestigious High-School.

Vice President – Philosophy Club (I’m Asian, so this would make me different from the others because its like NOT math/science, LOL)

Member -Math Team (not really EC because we meet during lunch periods everyday)

Secretary – Astronomy Club

Member – Oceanography Team (It is only during the Fall)

Will be Joining – Crew(Rowing) Team (It is only in the Spring..so it balance out with Oceanography Team)

My math teacher is asking me to join the school’s math publication but i’m not interested.

No, when you apply for college, the college will not ask when you took the SAT/SAT II…the are only interested in seeing that you took it and what you scored. How many times and when you took it doesn’t matter to a college.

Yes, take as many of the AP Examinations as you can. You get the opporunity to win prestigious awards if you pass enough and average a high score (I am an AP Scholar with Distinction…the awards you get for passing AP exams looks GREAT on a college application), and you won’t have to take the class in college, meaning you save money.

As for the SAT II’s, in general, taking so many of the same subject is usually frowned upon. You are free to take whichever ones you want, but you wanna show diversity with the Subject Tests. Taking three sciences wouldn’t be the greatest decision. On the college application, colleges will only ask to see two Subject Test scores, and for some colleges (usually the top ones, IVY and MIT definetely included) they require you to take the Subject Test in TWO DIFFERENT subjects. Meaning that you can’t write down two sciences, or two foreign languages, or two historys’, or both math tests’. If I were you, getting a perfect score would be difficult, considering you got the 790, which is as close as it gets, just take the World History. And, instead of taking the Physics and Bio, take the Math Level 2, or the Literature Subject Test. Stop with the sciences, and just put whatever other test you get the highest score in. You already have the 790…now all you have to do is back that up with a good second subject test.

Good Luck!

they seem at SAT subject try scores extra for admissions i think of and that they understand that some human beings make great/almost suitable scores on the subject try ought to do badly on the AP try. i might focus extra on the easily utility essays/supplementations than nerve-racking approximately try scores–specific, they’re necessary yet an essay is what is going to in reality make or ruin you in admissions (relatively via fact that there are in all probability 1000’s of alternative people who’re in a similar concern as you’re consistent with try scores on my own)

yes.

take as many AP classes and subject tests as you can

even the most prestegious unverstities though, only require 3 sat II tests – so chose your best 3 and stick with those, going overboard will hurt you too.

a good one for schools like that is math II
