Is it bad to drop a class with a “W”?
Favorite Answer
The W does not count against your GPA and is rarely viewed by companies you apply to (if they are looking at your transcript it is to prove that you wnet to the university and that your GPA was real)
IF this is the 3rd or 4th time you dropped a class, it may be an indicator to switch majors.
It is better than an F on a transcript by far.
One thing to keep in mind: if you are on financial aid for full time benefits, you are required to take and pass 12 credits (if you are on the term system), or whatever the credit amount is for full time at your school.
So if you W a class and you are under the school’s full time amount of required credits, you will most likely get put on academic probation and financial aid probation for one term. The next term you have to get good grades to get off academic probation, and some time within the school year you have to make up those credits to fulfill the years requirements for full time for financial aid purposes.
Good Luck!
