Is Carnegie-Mellon University that hard of a school to enter?

I have been lookin at colleges to enter for the future, and I always caught my eye on Carnegie. It has all my needs of a career there and its a great schol. Plus, its far enough away from my parents so they wont bother me. But people have been tellin me that its such a dificult schol to get through. Is it true?

It’s a very difficult school to gain admissions to. It’s currently ranked #22 by U.S. News and World Report, and that’s pretty darn high. They have top notch programs in engineering, fine arts, and business, and the rest of their programs are also very desirable.

Whether or not you get in is determined by several factors: GPA, class rank, SAT scores, essay, recommendations, etc. It also depends on which school you are applying to. For example, the Tepper School of Business has a 13% acceptance rate, while the school of Humanities and Social Sciences has a 34% acceptance rate.

Good luck.

relies upon on which colleges you stick to to. In my graduating type (long term in the past) i had 2 scholars with 1600. Neither have been given a scholarship at Harvard or MIT (yet they the two went to massive colleges), however the female with 1480 have been given an excellent scholarship at Stanford. ingredient being, its all subjective to the place you stick to, whats something of your application appear like, and so on. the important ingredient is which you’re sophomore who’s thinking college from now, and you have already got a head start to getting a intense SAT score.

It is true, but hard work is what gets you accepted in the first place, so if you can get accepted and keep working hard, you’ll be ok. (i went there)
