1 Duelling is still legal. Duels can only take place between two people, there has to be medical staff on hand and participants must be registered blood donors.

2 The capital city is Asuncion and the name Paraguay means “water that goes to the water”. They have a population of 5,585,828.

3 The national meal is called Mandioca and is basically beans and maize mixed together. Sounds lovely. A cup of mate (pronounced may-tay) is the local tea.

4 The country’s motto is “Paz y justicia” which in English means “Peace and Justice.”
