in depth literary analysis?

I am currently attending my sophomore English honors class.I feel my literary analysis skills are adequate enough to be in this class, but I want to be superior at this. The SAT requires these skills as well as future English courses. Critical reading, literary responses, analysis, and analytic essays would be all the skills I am aiming to improve. Books and trusted websites would be extremely helpful. Thank you

I cannot recommend anything specifically, but it should be pretty clear by now that all those skills come from reading more. The people good at analyzing literature are those people who grew up reading all the time and really understand that stories are often parables for much of human behavior. Consequently, I’ve found that being “aware” in a sense, or understanding motive and psychology, human behavior once again, can lead you to, in a way, backwards analyze literature. Start with the meaning and look for the clues so to speak. As writing is often steeped in personal meaning, it should follow suit that understanding humanity, emotions, logic and everything and otherwise, should be key.
