It’s called a “legacy”. It can be a sibling or other family member.

Usually doesn’t make it cheaper. I’ve never actually heard of a legacy scholarship, but there might be one out there.

It can make it easier to get in for private schools. If you’re borderline, it can help tip the scale in your favor. It’s not going to do that much though, but at really prestigious schools, you’ll need all the help you can get.

Depends on the school. At many places, it’s easier to get it. At some, there are alumni association scholarships, but otherwise, there aren’t usually any financial benefits.

in case you won’t be in a position to persuade them, then get a factor-time activity and get your self there on your very own! it is going to likely be a coarse adventure, even nevertheless it is going to likely be advantageous. you could attempt to get financial help and scholarships. you could pass to community college for a twelve months or 2 earlier keeping off to USC so it incredibly is extra value-effective interior the long-term. It does not sound like your mothers and fathers will budge, which you will only could desire to pass away them be and do your very own ingredient. it is going to likely be complicated, yet whilst movie is unquestionably your pastime and you learn each little thing you could, you will make it via. the only different concepts i will think of of is having a heart to heart communique consisting of your mothers and fathers and earlier asserting something, tell them to no longer interrupt till you’re achieved explaining why movie is solid for you and how achievement does not equivalent scientific expert or engineer.

It should NOT be easier to get into the college. If it is, then I think that’s illegal…

However, there are often some special scholarships you can apply for if you are the child of an alumnus. It depends highly on the college, you would have to check with the specific college.

if its is a private school like Yale, CMU, RPI etc. yes it’s easier to get accepted.

If your parents have been making donations to the school over the years, you will find you will be offered finical aid.

That how it worked for my son 2 years ago.
