If someone seriously considered a career as a doctor…?

What majors would they take in college? Would you start as a pre-med student before you simply became a med student?

Does anyone know of any good colleges?

biology is good, but lots of med school hopefuls major in this…i suggest double major in biology and something else like in the humanities (a language, history etc) or social sciences (sociology, psychology, etc). double majoring would make you stand out more since med school is very competitive. any college is fine as long as you get a good gpa, volunteer and/or work in something like an pharm tech, med assistant or emt etc. good luck!

Subjects to take in college:

The typical pre-medical requirements include:

1 year of general chemistry with labs

1 year of general biology with labs

1 year of organic chemistry with labs

1 year of physics with labs

1 course in biochemistry with a lab

1 course in calculus and/or statistics

The specific option chosen should also match your undergraduate major requirements, for example, some majors require Physics 105 & 106, other majors require calculus-based Physics 191 & 200.
