If nurse anesthetists make 6 figures a year and it only takes 6 years of college, why doesn’t everyone do it?

I think that I may wanna make the career choice of being a nurse anesthetist and I know they make tons of money per year…but is it really that easy? 6 years of college and one year serving as a nurse? What’s the catch?

It has to be something that you want to do. You can’t go through life looking for the money, you have to find something that you enjoy doing. That’s where the term starving artist came from. People do what they enjoy doing, even if the pay isn’t that great. They have to starve at what they enjoy to find the ultimate success.

The pay is great because it’s not easy to do and schooling is hard. The work can be stressful and high risk. A lot of people die from anesthesia problems.

I agree with the other poster. You shouldn’t look at careers because how much they pay.

Also, if you’re smart enough to become a nurse anesthetist, then you’re also going to apply to med school or pharm school, that’s why there’s a higher demand for these.
