Definitely major in something you’re interested in; if you are a scientist at heart and want to major in biology, then great. If you want to be doctor but also have an interest in English literature and want to major in that, that’s fine too, and your application will also stand out among the others. I majored in music composition and I can’t express enough how much more enriched my college experience was because I chose to pursue that in addition to my medical school requirements.
