The normal routine is to take the MCAT in October of your Junior year so that the scores can be released in time for you to apply the following Spring.

Here’s a pdf file about the MCAT: http://www.aamc.org/students/mcat/mcatessentials.pdf

If you haven’t found it, you owe it to yourself to review the web site put up by the Association of American Medical Colleges: http://www.aamc.org/

usually you would take it spring of your junior year, but with the mcat being offered many times during the year now, you can probably take it a couple times before that to get your score up.

It is recommended you take it your junior year. You have plenty of time to retake it, if needed. Good luck!
