If I can’t enroll in a class but I ‘sit in’ the class, does it show enthusiasm esp. to employers on my resume?

It could, but if you tell employers that you took a class that you didn’t actually enroll in and they don’t see it on your transcript (and they will have access to your transcript), it can make you look worse.

The correct term would be auditing the class. I believe that it does show enthusiasm to an employer and you will definitely learn whatever the subject is that is covered. However, you might want to consider finding another class to enroll in where you actually get credit. That is a more concrete way for an employer to evaluate you.

As an employer, it seems to me that would be a person who did not want to put forth the effort into getting the grades.

I’d recommend enrolling in the course or waiting to take the course until you can register for the class.

They are going to look at your transcript. If your story conflicts with that, then they probably aren’t going to believe you, and you would’nt get credit it for it, even if you did. So then they’re going to have issues with your character and integrity. I wouldn’t waste your time with sitting in. Just take the class next time it’s available.

If you officially audit the class, it should show on a transcript that you audited it. I do think it would show enthusiasm.
