I went to the local jr college today to enroll in a math class and they are full. What next?

Can I request they call me if they have any drops in the class, so I can enroll in the next week?

Is that too corny. I really want to take this class.

Ask them to put you on the wait list. Then go to class the first day and talk to the teacher. Most of them are pretty good about letting students into the class over the capacity.

Or just go to the classes the first week and hope somebody drops. The fact that you are going to the class even though you aren’t in it yet will show the teacher you want to be there.

Since they are full ask them if you can sign up for the winter semester classes that start in January, or ask them if this class is offered over the internet. Some classes are offered as an option when all the classes have been filled. I would go to the college and talk to an administrator and see if either of these options are available.

One would think that policy on cases where a section is full would be well-worked out. In fact that is often not the case. In fact it is something that institutions are always *(^&**ing around with and often administer very poorly. If I were you I’d contact both the Registrar (or whoever is in charge of course registration) and the Math department, explain your circumstances and ask for advice.

Good luck
