First, have an HR professional read your resume for you and make sure you aren’t making any mistakes that are killing your job prospects.
If you’re confining yourself to the location you’re in then the only thing you can do is apply at the places there that have ultrasound equipment (probably not a lot of choices). If you’re willing to move – there are plenty of jobs around the country for an ultrasonagrapher.
If you’re not ARDMS registered, get registered or at least become a candidate for registration.
When a job listing says “2 years experience preferred” apply anyway. If it says “2 years experience required” then you’re out.
Don’t forget that many small clinics also need a sonographer but not full time – if you have other skills they can use, you’re more marketable to them.
