I am the coordinator of the sport management program at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. I would encourage you to go to the North American Society of Sport Management web site at www.nassm.org. There you can click on a link for all approved sport management programs, where you will find small, liberal arts colleges like Loras or larger schools such as University of Louisville.

UMASS at Amherst has, perhaps, the country’s best-known program. I know two graduates who have done very well coming from there.
But I agree with the above poster; see what is out there, and what college fits you best. And once you’re in college, look for an internship with a sports team–it’s a great way to get your foot in the door. Good luck.
