yes!!! if its truely your passion in life. Just pay attention in your classes, WORK EXTRA HARD to make up for the time you didnt pay attention in high school, and make yourself stand out by not just following the “standard med school path.”(there are so many people just doing the norm) be unique! do things that not just every student striving for med school does. Try doing something for your commmunity to show that you have compasstion and care for others. Good qualities for med students. i once heard a story of a student that didnt do that well in high school and college and applied for med school and was rejected. He then wrote an article for students about his mistakes and what he would have done differently to make his dreams come true and published it to help other students. This showed his caring nature and thoughfulness for others and when he later applied to the same med school with this on his resume he was accepted! so…just do what you love no matter what it is and if it leads you there then your all set. I was once told by my dean that when you follow a set path to a set goal you may end up with something that u thought u wanted but really dont. just do what you love, follow ur dreams & be passionate about it. Thats all med schools really want in a student is passion. its just a quality that shows good character and determination. Good luck! just know that it will be very difficult but if this is your dream, like it is mine, i know you can make it happen.
