To perform autopsies, you need to go into Mortuary Science to become a Mortician. There are many schools that offer the degree. Do a Yahoo! search on Mortuary Science and the state where you’d like to go to school. Then you can find a list of schools in the state of your choice. Also, visit your local morgue – you are able to watch autopsies there (many morgues have glass windows so you can watch). By visiting a morgue, you can get first hand information from the Morticians there too. Good luck!

A pathologist has an M.D. So you have to go to undergrad school first, then four years of medical school. You want to have a high GPA and good MCAT score if you want to get into a med school with a good program. A GPA of 3.5 + should be fairly good to be competitive, but the higher the better.

Really good Med Schools include…

John Hopkins

Harvard

University of California San Francisco

Yale

Stanford

You can go on newsweek.com to check out undergrad and graduate school ratings or just google…US newsweek top medical schools.
