I really want to apply ED to University of Maryland-College Park, do i have a shot?

i have about a 3.50 G.P.A currently. I have tooken all honor classes from 10th grade on. I have about 6 math credits. My SAT scores are pretty low, i have a 1300 out of 2400. I am taking 3 A.P. classes currently, A.P Calculus, A.P. biology, A.P. lit/english and taking A.P. psychology on the side because i couldn’t fit it into my schedule. I am most likely ranked top 10% of my class. I currently have over 150 community service hours. By the end of the year i should have about 400-500 hours. My extracircular activites include Interact Club(Vice President), NHS(National Honor Society), Chemathon(chemistry competiton at University of Maryland . I am in the Science Fair club which is a way to help us complete the science fair project. I am volunteering at a hospital(community service hours), volunteer at school library and public. I plan on having many recomendations and a great essay.I know i want to go to UMCP but with my stats, should i do ED or should i do RD, so my stats can go up.

I don’t know UMCP very well, but usually for most colleges ED is the way to go if it’s your number one choice. In the short time between ED and RD, not much significant stat changing is probable, but going ED really tells the college you really want to go there. However, you should check up on where you stand on what UMCP’s looking for. If you are too far from what they want, save ED for a school you have more chances of getting into.
