I plan on double majoring- Pre-Med and Culinary?

I know that these are very different fields but I would really like to keep my options open. I live in NC. I know that UNCC offers pre-med and Johnson and Whales offers culinary. The schools are 15 minutes apart. With a job and these studies, would the course load be too overwhelming?

Your course load should be a heavy one due mainly to the premed requirements. In a fact, you CAN NOT major in premed. It is a route that you can take to get into med school. Most students major in biology because this major requirements coincides with the premed requirements.

As for the culinary major, I think it would be interesting for you to major in this subject. Admission Committees may take an interest in you considering this fact.

The schools that I believe that may have both of these major at UNC at Chapel Hill and UNC at Wilmington.

Hope this helps! Hey if you are interested in pharmacy, check out http://www.getintopharmacyschoolnow.com

It can very much so be overwhelming. But some people can handle more than others. It is good to keep your options open, but both of these degrees are very demanding. Pre-med will have you up all night studying, and culinary will take a lot of time as well. Do you plan on working while in school?? If so, then this is a very bad idea. If you are going to live at home, then it is not to bad. Plus, do you plan on having any you time? I would say trying to find a school that offers both that way you are not trying to be a full time student at both schools. I see it very hard trying to go to school at two different schools. That is two different payments and double the headaches with financial aid.

Your initial question sounded as though you were planning to take up cannibalism. However, the subsequent explanation makes it clear that you are not. Whew!

Can you carry that kind of course load? Unlikely. Pre-med is VERY demanding. And the courses you want to take would have to be offered at exactly the right times of day to allow you to zoom back and forth. Why not concentrate on the pre-med for now, and once you have your doctorate and are practicing, you can take all the culinary courses you wish – fly to Europe for seminars, build a fancy kitchen and backyard barbecue and enjoy a relaxing hobby.

u r beautiful and smart, but u hav to realize that premed is exceptionally difficult and to balance it with a job and a double major u have to really have a tremendous ambition(because i promise from my own experience that u will fall apart) or really smart so look into ur heart honestly and say that this all sounds nice but i must go with what i could do. then ask urself if ur capable of doing this.
