Yes, 4 year schools or universities should have financial aid departments for student use. You should probably fill out a FASFA form and submit it before going to the aid department, however. The form can be found on the web (i believe it is at FASFA.org but you may want to check a search engine) or you can pick it up at the financial aid department. Good luck with school and getting money for tuition!!!

You say you are a working adult, going to college to change careers. I don’t know what work you are doing/have been doing, or what field you want to transfer to.

However, there are many opportunities for adults going back to school today. If you have been accepted at a university and paying your way, (don’t know if you are a veteran, if so check with the VA Adm.) you may be eligible for financial aid. Financial aid is based on need. Speak to the admission counselor at the school you are transferring to about your situation and what financial aid is available. If not eligible due to high income, then you may have to apply for loans “be careful about loans” get all the information before you do this (to be paid later when degree is completed, and after you have worked for some time).

I would strongly suggest you ask the counselor if the university has a: credit for life experience program, sometimes called university without walls, governors program etc.

Another option is to take the CLEP test, check the site below, (this is information you have in your computer-your brain from work, life experience, readings, volunteer work etc.) that you do not have to take in school and will cut the amount of time in school to complete your degree, both, are accepted by universities and colleges around the country. Hope this helps. Questions, feel free to contact me at [email protected]

*Scam Alert**

Beware of Advance fee Loan scams.

ALL so called “Private Lenders” who ask for fees upfront are scammers…

my Advice: Don’t deal with anyone from a foreign country and never use wire/bank transfer services.. you risk losing your $$ and your mind.

Don’t pay attention to the people on here who are trying to Scam you. Beware of Advance fee Loan scams.

LOAN SCAM – Do Not Pay UpFront Fees.

Do not send money UpFront via Western Union or MoneyGram to any person or business in the UK, Nigeria or Canada in hopes of getting a loan. If you do you will learn a hard lesson & never see any Loan money.

Remember, if it sounds too good

to be true, it probably is! NEVER give out your personal information to strangers online! Always be on guard.

There is a great place to go with this. I was in a very similar situation.

This is getting help from real people without the use of banks or credit card companies. Good Luck!
