I’m doom definitely?

I don’t think there any chance for me getting to UC school because I had 2.8 GPA and I think I’m done for it. What should I do to build up again because I’m going to be a senior and I don’t know what to do with my life. I know i could i always go to CC and transfer but my parent doesn’t like that idea and I felt lower than everyone else. Is there any chance I can still be something big for my future? Any alternate for going to UC with maybe a very high SAT score?

First of all where you go to college doesnt mean ****(excuse my french) the fact is the great jobs you could get outside of college are based on who you know…..either that or you do some high tech computer work, work for a oil company or be an electrician. Where you end up doesnt mean you are better nor is anyone else better then you. What is meant to happen in life will occur. Dont worry about that

I think you may be finished if you only have a 2.8, but you owe it to yourself to try. You may be able to get into UC Riverside. But get a high SAT score and try to get into even some of the better UCs–if it doesn’t work out, at least you know you gave it your best shot.

You could always start off in the California State University or the community college system. Don’t rule that out. Your parents should not be ashamed of you for not getting into UC on your first try, if it happens that you don’t. At least you will have learned something if you don’t get in, and you will study harder in college if you want to keep the dream of transferring to one of the UCs alive.

In the mean time, knock the ball out of the park with your senior grades. You will need to, especially in the first semester. If you ever want to transfer to a UC from another college, they will probably look at your high school transcript as well, so make sure you keep good grades throughout your entire senior year.

Show character in your essays and you may have a shot at Merced and Riverside. Both want to build up their student body.
