Typically a communications major (broadcasting, journalism). However, I know someone who majored in business and is currently on air with a very promising career. As an anchor you need to know alot about economics, business, history, or a medical/nursing background if you want to do medical reporting.

The public speaking, physical presence a person has really has alot to do with it. The person I know who is successful entered (& won) some beauty (excuse me…scholarship) pageants (although not classically beautiful). Yuck, I know, but it taught her how to carry herself and gave her LOTS of interview practice.

The best way to get a job is to get internships. During internships they let you make your demo tapes & you get to know people.

You are looking at journalism.

Basically becoming a writer and an orator.

So lots of english classes as you have to know how to write a script, spell, great grammar, sentence structure, essay structure etc.

So your major will probably be along the lines of english literature. Discuss with the high school counselors as they should have the info for what courses specifically you’ll need to major in and what schools have these courses.

(BTW your spelling needs improving)

Bimbo University.

Instead of wanting to be an airhead anchorwoman. you should start thinking about serious studies in University – such as Journalism.
