D is a passing grade but not a good grade – right above an F. which is failing grade. You might consider re-taking the class for a higher mark

Generally, the school will treat the D as a passing grade. However, the business department may have a clause where you can only have so many grades under a C in which if you reach that number, you would have to recieve a C. Also, another thing to look into, is my department makes certain classes “gateway” courses, where you HAVE to have a C or better to move on to the next course in line. Such as, if you had to take algebra 2 they may require you have a C.

For the course, yes. For the business school at your university, no. If you cannot raise your grade at this time, ask if you can drop the course and repeat it later. In any case, plan to repeat the course immediately. If nothing else, you’ll need proficiency in algebra to get through the remainder of the program.
There’s a math help program at most schools. Go find them.
