First of, you have to go to a local school, or talk with someone from your state’s school board, to see if there are any exceptions for you. If you have the work that you did from the years that you were homeschooled to prove that you actually learned something, they might just give you a test on each subject that you took and give you credit. If that doesn’t work, it’s going to be difficult for you. Make sure that redoing your homeschooling IS THE ONLY OPTION that you have left. Try to get around it, call the homeschooling department of your state, ask if you can get credits for your classes in some other way without redoing all your lessons. If you do have to redo the entire homeschooling curriculum, then do it properly. First, sign yourself up with your state’s school board as a homeschooled student, and find out what you need to do at the end of each year to get credits for your work. These questions can be answered by a simple phone call. Then take classes from an accredited institution, or at home by yourself, following the rules of the school board. When you have enough credits to graduate, look at websites of colleges you want to visit to see what they require SATs, etc. You might want to call the college to get some of this info. Do your research!! Also, if you are homeschooled under the state department of education, you will probably have access to a guidance counselor (usually over the phone) that can help you. Just make sure to take the SATs, and some colleges require SAT II tests. Check your college’s requirements! And IT’S NEVER TOO LATE!!!!!

You seem a little small, considering you don’t have good skills and fundamentals. Even though it is only community college, most of the guys are still going to be 6’2″+, and they are also going to be guys that have good basic skills. It’s not too late, if you are willing to put in a lot of work, but if you want to play basketball, I would just look into joining a rec league at your local YMCA. There, the talent level can still be pretty good, and with a rec league season under your belt, you might gain the skills needed to join your community college team.

It varies from school to school but generally, without a HS diploma or GED you will be asked to take an admissions test to check your current educational level. If you are not college level in any area, they will enroll you in those pre-college classes. Sometimes called “zero level” because they don’t earn you college credit. If a 4 year school won’t accept you or if you don’t score high enough to be eligible for financial aid try a community college they may accept you. The average age of college students nowadays is like 28 years old… so No, It’s never too late! Apply for financial aid now, don’t wait for… well, anything…. and if you get your GED or diploma, you can always fix that question after wards. Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov it’s the first step.

First of all, depending on what state you are in, you could just take your GED and go on to college. Depending on your score on it, you are actually eligible for scholarships.

School has pretty much already started, but start with your local college and see if you can start with the intersessions which are short classes that may not have started yet.

Surf to some college and university websites. Call or write for some college catalogs. Decide on a major. Discuss college costs with your parents. If mommy & daddy’s money is out of the question, contact http://www.fastweb.com for private scholarships and http://www.fafsa.ed.gov for government financial aid. Also contact the financial aid office at the schools you want to go to. Start applying for college admissions and for scholarships & student loans. If you are planning on moving away to go to college, contact their housing office to apply for dormitory housing.

It’s never too late to get into college. And you are young too.

Your local community college is good at helping high schoolers get college credit (well some).

it’s never too late for college…heck you could be 80 and you can still go to school lol.

as long as you have your GED or diploma, you’ll get into a community college. as for university, it depends on your gpa, test scores, finances, etc.
