I live in Canada. How do I get into an Ivy League school in the U.S?

My name is Eric and I live in Ontario, Canada. I would like to pursue a college education in the states and I was wondering if I have the qualifications to be accepted.

I am currently in Grade 11 and my average mark is 92%. I work part-time as a Head Lifeguard/Deck Supervisor for 2 of the municipal pools about 15 hours every week. I also have my own business that I started for the summer of 2007 in which I taught swimming privately full-time. I make an average of $30-60 an hour. Also From a government program, I received $3000 sponsorship for my business. I have volunteered as a science tutor, math tutor, senior retirement home, teacher’s assistant, and music librarian. My volunteer hours total to about 100+ hours. I was involved in the Student Council, Yearbook club, DECA(Business Debate Club), Track and Field, Cross Country Running, Ski Club, the Science Club, Junior and Senior Concert Band.

I have not yet taken a SAT test yet. What score would I need to be accepted into Harvard?

Your background is very impressive. Keep it up.

“A good score would be: 600 and above in Critical Reading, 680 and above in Math, and 630 and above in Writing. I consider this a good score for Harvard…….There is no cut-off (minimum) SAT scores for Harvard University, but usually they prefer above 1900 from 2400.”

You heard flawed. These universities receive enormously much less global scholars than US residents. Your probabilities of gaining admission are a lot smaller as a consequence. You can take the SATs on your junior 12 months. You ought to have anything which makes you stand out. Everyone making use of to those universities is an first-rate scholar with best grades. They already do plenty of volunteer paintings and tremendous extracurricular hobbies. You’ll ought to do that as good as anything else to make your self stand out. Ivy Leagues aren’t the great in each discipline. Not coming into any of them doesn’t suggest some thing

getting accepted into Ivy league school usually requires that you come from a wealthy family (blue bloods) who have graduated Harvard before you do and who are in a career such as a doctor, lawyer, etc., good references and contacts, a family member who was in one of their sororities or fraternities, your parents probably would have to be supporting the school with donations before you attend, and of course you’d need straight A’s, and maybe have done some community work.
