I have a question on SAT II to get into a University of California (UC)?!?

I know that you have to take two SAT II to get into the UC system. And it says that it has to be of two different subjects. Would taking two different tests, on two different languages be alright? Or does that count as one, “language other than English”?

I’ve already taken the SAT II Japanese, and I’m planning on taking the SAT II German for the second one…does that count as two?

Has anyone else taken two different language SAT II to get into the UC? Also, I’m going to be a senior this year, and December is the last time to take the SAT II, right?

The UC has answered this question on its web site:

Question:

If an applicant takes SAT Subject Tests in French and Spanish, or World History and U.S. History, will she satisfy the requirement that the tests be in two different subjects?

Answer:

Applicants are required to take two SAT Subject Tests in two different areas: English (literature only), history and social studies, mathematics (Level 2 only), science and language other than English.

French and Spanish are from the same area, so taking both of these tests would not fulfill the examination requirement. Nor would World History and U.S. History meet the requirement.

Taking Japanese and German is fine. If they say they want two, they don’t care which two. It’s only when you’re applying to certain majors that they might have extra requirements (like a science or a math subject test).

December is the last test in which you’ll get the results back early enough for them to consider it.

There’s usually a code in which you mark for them to send the score to the schools.

Although I’m not going to UC, I went through the same thing last year. It is best to take another subject because it will show your college that you are multitalented. Colleges love seeing that. Since it is already pretty close to deadlines if you take it in Oct., it’s probably best to just have the College Board send your scores in for you now, if you are doing Early Action/Decision. You don’t want to miss any deadlines!

Dude heavily, your training are extremely person-friendly…. and you nonetheless can not get a 4.0 -_- you only have a million Ap classification according to 3 hundred and sixty 5 days comon dude. the only UC i see you getting familiar to is UC merced. sorry. And going to a competivie highschool is even worst on your character determine using fact UC compares you such as your graduating classification. meaning your classmate makes you look even worst! It greater appropriate to circulate to a dumb college and be like the appropriate pupil of that college than circulate to a smart college and be a time-honored pupil.

I suggest you take another type of subject tests. You’ve already proven your language skills in Japanese, but you should also have a diversity. Try some literature, science, history, etc.

That’ll look good. =)
