I am waitlisted for a tax LLM at Georgetown. Anyone have any suggestions for getting off of the waiting list?
For a variety of reasons, I have to stay in DC and therefore Georgetown is the only school I am considering.
I originally sent in 3 letters of recommendation and 2 of them have followed up with the admissions office since I was waitlisted to encourage my admission.

I am not positive about Georgetown, but usually waitlisted means that there are no openings until other students have accepted, declined, or quit.
Being waitlisted is positive, as you ahve beaten many other candidates who were flatly declined.
You could make an appointment with Dean of admissions to discuss what activities would make your application more attractive (while you wait.) It might encourage some dialogue on your prospects.
