you have to take math subjects because it will develop your analytical skills, logic to develop your reasoning skills. and if your’re school offers business subjects take that too, because they will be helpful if not in college, surely, in the work place. lastly, you should also be adept with computers not necessarily extensive. because as the time passes by, accounting is gearing towards automation. maybe by the time you graduated manual in accounting will no longer exist. even nowadays, almost all of the big companies and those small and medium scale industries are already using automated accounting.

with regards to the salary, it depends with the company you would target as your first; on your performance (that is, how demandable you are as an accountant); to the country you are right now. if you really want to know the range of salaries in your place, you could make use of the statistics of your city or national library or whatever you call it. OR do your own query, ask persons you know who know and have accountant as their friends.

so GOD BLESS with the career you want to pursue.

The best thing you can do is to take as many classes as you can at a local community college for which your high school has extension agreements with. You may be able to apply college credit to your high school credit AND keep that college credit for future use. That’s really the best way. Oh, and it does not matter what classes you take as long as it’s typical general core classes such as history, math, english, social sciences, etc. To be a real accountant, one must hold a bachelors degree in accounting or business with an emphasis in accounting. To make any real money, one needs to have a CPA designation, which requires more schooling. So you can see, accelerating your start to college is what I would suggest. Plus, you may decide not to even major in accounting (few people stick with their original career plan from high school), you can always easily take a general core to apply it anywhere in different majors.

I’m a finance major but i originally was majoring in accounting. there really isn’t any classes you can take in high school to help you except business related classes like econ. I would suggest taking a duel credit econ class that counts towards both college and high school. other than that math but the math in accounting is not that difficult. As far as salary goes it varies. a cpa makes up to 100k a year

Accountants typically don’t make that much money. Maybe $50-60K a year. Take accounting or any kind of business class that your school offers. Also be sure to take math all 4 years.
