hear, not here. stay n school! a college degree equals the potential for 2 to 3 times more income. why sell urself short?

bill gates made a smart business decison. he dropped out of school, which means he had the aptitude to be there in the 1st place. if u have no foundation, no plan (even better, a plan that will actually work), if u have no nothin… good luck.

Interestingly enough, there are people out there that do very well professionally without a college degree, and make a decent amount of money. But generally speaking, most people without a colleg degree have to work a lot harder and maybe even do some of the jobs that the rest of us would not want to do. Take the guy that has been working for a company for over 15 years and now has a 24-year-old kid as his boss. Does this seem fair to him? Well, probably not since he will probably be the one that ends up training his new boss. Still, to an employer, a college degree signifies that you are a serious, goal-oriented individual and this translates into a higher salary and more responsibility… not necessarily more work, mind you, since the higher up you are with a company, the more people you have below you to delegate to.

Well off, Hummm start your own business. Other than that life is what you make it. If you love a subject enough to find out all you can about it then go for the degree. If not OR if you have learned everything about this subject without the aid of College, then skip paying out millions of dollars.

I think many 18-year-olds need an extra 4 years to grow up before they go out on their own.

I went to college, my sister did too. Neither of our husbands completed college (they dropped out) and are very successful and happy.

The key is to find out what you want to do and what path you’ll need to achieve it. My sister and I were lucky, our parents paid the bill….many other people struggle with student loans for years and aren’t that happy with the profession they’ve chosen.

I have since gone back to school and attained my paralegal certificate. My Bachelor’s degree wasn’t needed for this new vocation, but I had a great time in college and learned more in that 4 years than in all my years in grade school and high school!

As long as people are inventive, creative, and are capable of providing a good or service that people need or want (business), you can become very successful.

Yes. Just use Bill Gates for an example.

I know plenty of happy and affluent people that haven’t graduated college.

Nahh. You’re just raised to think that way because it’s the most used path to success. In reality, you can be just as successful without one.
