People will laugh at your resume and throw it away without bringing you in for an interview.

U of P is a For Profit corporation tha thas a lousy academic reputation. Because of this, they accept nearly everyone — so employers have no way to tell if their graduates are good or not. The fact that they were recently fined a record $9.8 million for sleazy recruiting practices and are now under investigation for padding their placement figures does not help their reputation.

Companies like Intel have changed their employee tuition policy to exclude U of P tuition because they feel the classes lack rigor.

They claim to be accredited — but they have the easy-to-get regional accreditation and lack the more prestigious national accreditation.

In addition, U of P is twice as expensive as your local public university — which is probably well respected.

Transfer as soon as you can and get a real education.

I have pounded on the keyboard too much about these for-profit tech schools. If you would search Yahoo! Answers there’s plenty said. One “happy customer” had a clerk’s position working for the “university” itself.

Wikipedia has an excellent article.

My opinion — Basically, you’re going to pay 4 times what a real university would have charged you. As far as marketability, I’d camp out at their Career Counselor’s office and ask them every day if there are any jobs until the security guard denies you admittance.
