i am a mca student who took 6 years to complete my course and get a degree, will i have a future in IT field ?

the reason for the delay in course was that i had a neurological chemical imbalance that caused slowness, which was unfortunately not diagnoased and treated until recent past.now my over all performane has improved considerably after starting treatment.will i be successful as a programmer? how will i explain my career gap due to a neurological disorder ?

what will get you a job or not is whether you are competent if your field. what can you say about software engineering? what projects did you do in college. while in college did you do any projects for fun outside of what was required for school? do you enjoy programming? what is the fundamental theorem of computing? there are many more important things to focus on than just a career gap.

If you have good answers to the questions I asked, and you understand software engineering, theory, design, etc then you will have no problem finding a job. I wouldn’t bring up your medical issues.
