How many quotes is too many on a college essay?
I have to write a 10 page paper and I would rather use quotes than reword everything all the time. It is also much easier but I would like to know what you think is the maximum for using quotes? We are writing MLA style

There’s not exactly such a thing as “too many” but if you’re using a quote when you’d be better off using your own words, then you’re destroying your paper for no good reason.
Don’t try to make this decision based on what is easier. Decide based on what makes a good paper. The easiest paper is usually garbage. I know…I’ve graded a lot of them. I can always tell which students take the easy way out.

I would say anymore than one per page is too much. Rewording allows the professor to know you understand the material.
Also, it depends on the length of the quote.

Well, the thing about quotes is that you should only use them when rewording it would weaken the strength of the quote. It’s not really about the numebr of quotes, its about the strength of your evidence.
