How hard is college for people taking meds for mental disorders?
I have been diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder and was prescribed Zoloft for it and I was just wondering if anyone else has had similiar experiences when just starting college?

It won’t be hard if you are determined to learn and you put your priorities in order…a strong will can get you through College…so go for it!!!

They should actually make your life easier. You should be able to focus and concentrate on your work now. If you do get past your social anxiety enough to go out and have fun, you CANNOT drink or take any recreational drugs on Zoloft. Not even a beer. You will get physically ill, and it will worsen your mental condition. There’s no such thing as a happy pill, so let the meds help you while you learn coping skills, and (with the guidance of your psychiatrist), get off the meds as soon as you are ready.
