Pretty tough, my friend. Its rules seem almost counter-intuitive… until one finally “gets it.” My fellow students at the Stanford Graduate School of Business were far from stupid, yet we sweated and swore through financial and cost accounting.
That said — I liked my career in it. Accounting has rules and logic too it… unlike, say, PR, where everybody’s got an opinion and half the battle is political negotiation. IF you are a logical person who is comfortable with numbers and doesn’t want a whole lot of flash in your work world, you can make good money, contribute to the business and enjoy yourself.
