They will usually ask for a reference, and they might randomly call a reference or two that you listed to make sure you are not making anything up.

As far as getting into UCI or UCR, that would be a tough call as they are both schools that will have a lot of competition for admissions. Your best bet is to get a few more extra curriculars/community service. It will also come down to how good your ACT/SAT scores.

For Key Club hours to be validated, you must have record of it. I’m sure your key club’s secretary is supposed to keep the hours. They might check with the club records to make sure.

By UCI and UCR, do you mean UC Irvine and UC Riverside?

If you did, then that is very easy to get into. I don’t think you would have that much of a problem getting into it. However, on your application, be sure to explain why you didn’t do more community service and why only one year of tennis and stuff. You have to explain why you were not that active. However, if your SAT score is good and GPA/ranking is good, it should be fine.

Hi…community service hours can be validated by you…get a letter from each place you volunteered and let them talk about how good you were at the volunteer position….I got into Washinton University and got my Masters and what I know is a 3.5 can be weighted with the right other stuff and it sounds like you got some of that right other stuff…a foreign language doesn’t hurt
