HI, I am a high school junior and I am out to beat my first chair trumpet player and He was ready to enter college his freshman year. I get told that i Can be as good as him if I put my effort to It but I have put my soul into my music and he dosent even care about the music or the band. And Guess WHAT…He still beats me every time. I mean he is a year older and going to state for band but I just don’t get why he would want to beat me, I mean his dad makes him play and he said that he hates being section leader… I get told that everyday… let me make that stright everyday for the 180 days of school… and it trives me insane.. i can’t beat the person who hates band. I just don’t know what to do… and I practice 4 hours a day all year…. URG!!! that bothers me …. I could use all the help I can get. Thnks…..
