You weigh the grade in each class by the number of credits. In a normal grading scale an A=4 point, B=3 points, C=2 points D= 1 point and F=0

Credits If your Total

Credits Grade is: Value Points

5 C 2 10

4 B 3 12

4 A 4 16

3 A 4 12

16 50 GPA is: 3.125

3.125 is a solid B Average

Hope this helps.

you multiply the credit hours (5, 4, 4, 3) by the points awarded for the grade your got ( a=4, b=3, c=2, d=1, f=0) add the products of each multiplication. then devide that total by credit hours (16) that number is your gpa.

you have to multiply your grade point by the credit weight, add them all up and then divide by the total number of credits, in your case divide by 16

say you have a B in the 5 credit course, if B=3, then you get 5X3=15 for that course

if you have A in a 4 credit course then 4 X 4=16 for that course, etc

[(grade in class) x 5 + (grade in class) x 4 + (grade in class) x 4 + (grade in class) x 3 ] / 16
