2) Take all the hard Math & Science courses, AP if you can. Take up to Calculus; take Biology, Anatomy & Physiology (if it’s offered); take Chemistry & Physics.
3) Colleges want well-rounded Pre-med students, now, so join one club or sport, too.
4) To be sure you want to be one, do volunteer work (maybe 4 hrs./ week in a clinic or medical-type setting, if possible. ) Or at least read nonfiction or semi-fiction books on the lives of doctors, like *The Intern*, etc., so you know what it’s like. I especially liked the autobiography of the former Surgeon General Everett Koop.
5) Talk to doctors, to see what their lives are like.
6) Consider 2 years of community college, for your General Ed. requirements, to save up your money for your BS degree & med school.
Good luck!!
Pay attention to everything else too – but these are critical. Develop your written and spoken communication skills.
Keep your grades up but also make sure you do other things. An art, a sport, and a social life. You want to be more than very well learned – you want to be well rounded as well.
Focus on what area of medicine you are most interested in.
check out taking med. related classes at your local community college
if u wish 2 u could also take extra classes or join some institution so that u gain sone extra knowledge than wut they teach in ur school
