Yes if you are graduating from a top notch school that is heavily recruited from and in a field that is in demand. For example, if you graduate with an English degree from Harvard or Texas State it may not make a difference but a law degree or engineering degree from MIT will increase your bargaining power, increase the demand for your employment, and give you a higher then average starting salary. Alternatively, if you are going to school for a BA in Human Resources, you are going to be making 35k a year pretty much no matter what, which you could probably make without college education. College is really a waste (psy, eng, sp comm, business, mostly everything) unless you are studying something regulated that requires it (law, medicine)or a unique program, in my opinion and experience.

Nope not really. Everyone who graduates in the #1 spot at the Ivy League schools already have been picked up. Everyone else is just in play all over the world. I’ve worked with folk who have a graduate degree from a night college as well as folk who graduated at Stanford….guess what they all work together.

Important thing is get the degree and know what you are doing.

Nope, unless you are planning on going into a very competitive field. For the most part, as long as you have it, it doesn’t matter where you get it.

I think an M.B.A. from Harvard would carry a little more weight than one from your local Community College.
