I don’t know how easy is to get a 4.85 gpa in your class, but you should list your class ranking as well.

9 clubs huh, everyone can get into a club and be a member, you want to hold some sort of position among the clubs such as president, secretary… etc

tennis, no one cares about tennis, i would not put this on your application.

No school will accept you if you don’t apply.

Honestly man, what did you expect as an answer from us? Obviously your credential is good enough for most schools. If you want to get into the top tier schools (HARDVARD, YALE), its kind of random and hard to say if they will accept you or not. Stop gloating and go write some good admission essays.

Oh geez. I almost feel obligated to go into every question MBA Seeker answered and fix things. Kid is like an absolute moron who goes off running his mouth on stuff he has no idea about. He has a little knowledge, but that’s where he gets in trouble. It’s like a kid that knows where the gas and brake pedals are in a car but nothing else and goes off and tries to drive in traffic.

Most state schools will accept you. I assume you mean you have a 4.85 WEIGHTED GPA unless you’re using some scale that most colleges don’t use. Assuming that’s weighted, that’s a nice and impressive GPA and a good SAT score for top schools.

The extra currics is where you’ll have some problems. MBA Seeker is right in that being in a bunch of clubs is not very useful. Anyone can sign up. You have to show you did something with the club. Preferably a leadership position and doing something extraordinary with that club (start a big charity event, etc). I don’t see much of that.

Despite what that dimwit says, absolutely put down you have 4 yrs of varsity tennis and are ranked #2 on the team. That shows dedication, accomplishment, and success in a competitive arena. Do you know if you’re ranked in the state? If you’ve got a decent ranking, put that down too. This is actually your most impressive EC. Especially on the East Coast, the schools are going to like a high ranked player on a more upper class sport like tennis.

Unless you’re top ranked in the state, what you have probably isn’t enough to impress the Harvards and Dukes of the world, but you’ve got a shot and it’s worth applying. The worst they can do is say no.

With those stats, you’re one of the few that could go to any college you choose. You’re active so it shows you’re comitted to things you participate in, and you have the grades to show you’re a hard worker. I would say just pick a college and apply. If you’re in the top % of your class, which is even better, most state schools accept you guarnteed, especially in California. For example, if you are in I think the top 10 or 5% of your class, you have a spot at any state school you choose, regardless.
