Help nervous about starting college?

I’m a senior in college, your questions are probably the same most people have.
1) The notebook depends on you. If I have maybe one or two classes each day and the classes are very note intensive (some classes aren’t) I will buy a notebook for each. However if I have a semester where I have 3 or more classes in a day I will just buy a couple multi subject notebooks, like one for monday-wednesday-friday classes and one for tuesday-thursday classes. Carrying around one or two notebooks is OK, but 3 or 4 can be quite heavy. Another good thing to get is one or two three ring binders. If your univercity is like mine, you’ll get a lot of syllibi, already-copied notes from your teacher, assignment lists, etc. Three ring binders are GREAT for these. I have so many of them now π
2. For the calculator – What kind of math are you going to take? Are you just taking college algebra or will you be doing calculus. Most people I know have at least a TI-83 calculator (a brand of texas instruments), which is a simple graphing one. A lot of people like these because they have the ability to solve complex problems by themselves (so you can check your work) and you can also store equations in them that you should be remembering *cough* for exams. π I have a TI-89, but it is a bit too complex for me. I just got it because I took calculus. I would at least get a simple graphing calculator.
3. You should be able to go to the college book store and charge items using your student ID card. This will go on your student account, and if you have a financial aid refund from your financial aid, the total of your book store charges will be deducted from your refund before it is distruted to you. And, yes, you can buy whatever you want in the bookstore usually, from calculators to hoodies.
