HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks !?

I’m 22 years old can i get financial aid at my community college without my parents having to be on it?????????????? they don’t claim me on their taxes anymore????????????????????? please help me out thanks so much!

Yes you can, you just have to be enrolled for a certain amount of credits, usually 12 or more, or whatever your college considers a full time student. good luck!

Unless you get married, I don’t believe that there is much you can do. I got married at 20 and therefore I was free from those rules after that. I have several friends who simply waited until they were 24 to enroll in big time schools because there wasn’t anything they could do to bystep the financial aid rules…. However, I don’t know if that depends on the state you live in.

I hated this when I was in college… I totally understand, however, there is not much that you can do about it. I was able to take out some alternative loans, be careful though… they were at a very high interest rate and I wasn’t able to consolidate them with the rest of my loans when I was done with college.

You can always try to write down just one of your parents on your FASFA instead of both… that worked for me one year but my parents are divorced.
