Has someone changed majors sometime?
I transfered to University of Florida and now I’m interested in Computer Engineering, the problem is that i didn’t take Chemistry in my previous school, which is a required for C.E., wich would have been really cheap and I could have easily taken. Now I regret and I feel guilty. Has anyone been in the same situation? I think I was not wise enough and now I have to be behind while all my friends took that class. What can I do? Is it worthy to get behind but do the major that I discovered I like? I know I was stupid because I could have done that class easily, I can’t forgive myself and that’s very bad. Advise please!!!

Don’t beat yourself up over this. Happens all the time. I would suggest you take the chemistry class during the summer when you only have to concentrate on one class. Good luck to you!!!!

Absolutely. I’ve changed my major 3 times already. Being behind in one class is no big deal… in fact at the University of Florida I’m willing to bet there’s *at least* one other person in your situation. And so what if you could’ve done the class? You can’t change that but you’ll be saying the same thing in 2 years if you don’t take *this* one.

This is what college is about. People change their majors all the time. I started out in one major and then two years into college I changed it to something else. I don’t think anyone knows exactly what they want to do when they start out. You shouldn’t beat yourself up about this. I think if you really want to become a computer engineer, then take the Chemistry class so you can continue working towards your degree. Best of luck!

Do the major you want. You’ll be able to catch up. Plenty of people change their majors — just make sure you’re going to be happy. But it is definitely worth it.

People do it all of the time in their first year. I went from Respiratory Therapy to Criminal Justice. I got my Associates in may and am looking to get my Bachelors on-line.

For God’s sake, take the chem class and get on with your life. It isn’t worth this much stress.
