Currently one of the greatest issues in nursing is that we don’t have enough staff to take care of the patients the way we need to. The nursing shortage is really getting to a critical level,
Our ratio at work for NT is 6-1 and currently they have been working with 13-1 and the nurses are working 9-1 instead of the 5-6 to one , We hire the qualified nurses that come thru but there just isn’t enough. The school are graduating them and several are not passing boards the first time.
Many of our older nurses are retiring at a faster rate than we are replacing them.
