I attended undergrad many yrs ago, also worked on the campus in a neurology office at the hospital, and I still live in DC and spend time in the Georgetown area

It isn’t a school or environment that will appeal to everyone, so it’s hard to say what might turn you off. Georgetown has a great medical center, so in that respect I would imagine it’s a good place for med education. Overall, the school enjoys a reputation for prestige and high standards. The med school is on the opposite side of campus from the undergrad and smaller grad programs. It’s a pretty ethnically diverse environment. G’town has one of the top foreign service programs. The law school is in another part of DC (near Capitol Hill).

The campus it attractive – especially beautiful in the Spring. And their facilities are pretty nice. The medical center area in particular has seen new construction all around it. There is a lot of off campus rental property in the immediate area and shops, grocery & drug stores, coffee shops and high end boutique-type stores within walking distance.

Biggest down side – DC is a very expensive place to live. It is probably somewhat overcrowded – high amounts of traffic is the biggest challenge for the city right now. Parking is a nightmare – there isn’t enough. DC has a good amount of ethinic diversity and the city is experiencing a resurgence now, so new things are popping up all the time.

i think of that is mostly a sturdy thought to maintain conspicuous sectarian insignia out of the president’s image for the duration of significant coverage speeches. they did no longer drape the stained glass homestead windows, that are all non secular photos. What replaced into draped is a monogram of Jesus’ call (that He Himself does not have known or cared approximately). It does not look that great a deal to drape Jesus’ monogram (which might in any different case have recognised at present above the president’s head). Take one inspect the image, and that is patently obtrusive that Obama is speaking in a church. it form of feels that he’s darned if he does and darned if he does not at this element–I even have seen some posts hypothesizing that he had the monogram draped by using fact he sees himself as some form of messiah. Had he left the monogram top over his head in the process the speech, some might particularly have used that to declare that he sees himself as some form of messiah…

Georgetown is a really hip place. It is very college-townie. A lot of small shops in the area. It is a really nice school. I wish I would have went there.
