From Business school to Pre-med?

The fact that I will be completing all my “pre-med” requirements in my Junior and Senior year, will it be a liability in my medical school application?
Thanks!

At most universities “pre-med” is not a major at all, just an area of concentration. Medical schools are now encouraging students to major in something other than biology. Medical schools highly favor students who have taken courses rich in humanities and liberal studies. They want to see that you are interested in more than just science. That you are educating yourself beyond the world of biology and chemistry.
Acceptance into medical school is based upon several things:
-Your GPA (especially in science)
-Your MCAT score
-Rigor of course work
-Leadership abilities
-Volunteer/Research work in the medical field.
I’m sure that theres much more that I’m leaving out because it’s so late and I am exhausted. Hopefully I answered your question thoroughly! If there are any additional questions that you may have, one of my favorite websites is studentdoctor.net. It provides you with lots and lots of tips on what things you can do to improve your chances of getting into medical school. The website is basically used as a forum for pre-med and medical students who can probably answer any questions that you might have!
So, good luck!
I’m biased toward Fordham, although the other schools are excellent.
