For those who’ve got into med school, what do you think set you apart from the rest?

If you’ve gotten into med school, tell me what on your application you think set you apart from others with a high GPA and MCAT score? Also what school did you get into?

One of my good friends got into Wayne State’s Medical School because of her interst/passion for Karate. You need to pick a hobby/activity that can set you apart from everyone else. It could be just about anything.

Medical Schools also look at people who don’t just go the easy route and get a degree in Biology or chemistry. If you aren’t already into your degree program, think about majoring in something different like law or art ( or something you are interested in). You will still have to take biology and chemistry and all the pre-med classes but it will definitely make you stand out.
