Extracurriculars?

I do about 10 hours of community service a year, I am on the varsity ski team for the third year, and I am co-president of the eco club for one year and will be for two more years. I will be a junior. Is this enough extra curriculars to get into college?

Depending on which college you apply to, and more importantly, your GPA and test scores, you don’t even need any extra curriculars.

You have an ok amount. Almost certainly not enough for a Harvard/Stanford, etc, but if you’ve got the grades and test scores, top public schools should take you.

As long you show dedication rather going off tangent with other activities, then you should be good. College wants to see your devotion and leadership. But for the community service part, perhaps start something on your own and show leadership. Maybe, starting a blood driver, scholarship, or even organ donor campaign? But for now, your showing good signs. Just make sure you separate yourself from the other pool of applicants. Good luck!

You’re doing great! However, I do suggest more community service. Colleges look at that a lot to know about you. And stick to one or two organizations in order to develop relationships and possibly get high positions of responsibility. Also, don’t forget about grades and test scores in your whirlwind of activities. They are two of the more important things!

You have good extracurriculars so far. Keep it up and you’ll be fine. Add some more, even.

You will, however, need more than 40 hours of community service. Try about 100-150.

I think it’s fine. I didn’t do any extra stuff and still got into a great college. Just make sure your grades are top notch.

That sounds great and more than enough. Hopefully your grades are good too and that should get you anywhere you want to go.
